Flat-Head Acupuncture (Pizhen): From Classical Theory to Modern Clinical Practice (4 CEUs)
Join the Wisconsin Society of Acupuncturists (WISCA) for an engaging 4-hour continuing education seminar presented by Dr. Yuning Susan Hu, PhD, RTCMP, RAcP, MD (Toronto, Canada). This comprehensive workshop introduces the history and evolution of Pizhen (Flat-Head Acupuncture), one of the classical Nine Needles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and explores its modern role in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain, myofascial dysfunction, and peripheral nerve entrapment.
Participants will gain a practical understanding of the pathological mechanisms and biomechanical principles underlying Pizhen therapy, including fascial release, neuromuscular regulation, and tissue decompression. Dr. Hu will discuss patient assessment, treatment indications, contraindications, safety considerations, and evidence-informed clinical applications. The seminar concludes with a live clinical demonstration highlighting treatment techniques, needle handling, and practical treatment strategies that attendees can integrate into daily practice.
