It is bittersweet that I address you here for my last moments as Chair of the American Society of Acupuncturists. This time represents the completion of five years in this role, having the honor to be the founding Chair for this astounding organization. We have grown from an informal working collective of somewhat isolated state associations and individuals, trying to find ground in the soil of the American medical landscape, to a formal entity with 34 state association members representing more than 5000 individual practitioners nationwide.
We have established strong working relationships with the other leaders in the field, and have grown to engage national entities such as the Centers for Disease Control, the Food and Drug Administration, Health and Human Services, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Defense…MORE
